Cupcake News
PJ’s Poppers (also known as Mini Cupcakes) are now available for ordering! PJ’s Poppers can be ordered in increments of 12/flavor in our all of our Classic flavors for $6.00/dozen or most of our Signature flavors for $7.00/dozen! Just as with our regular cupcakes, we do ask for at least 2-3 days notice for most orders. More information can be found on our menu page!

We have also received numerous questions regarding selling PJ’s Poppers on a daily basis in store. While we won’t have Poppers available in the cases to mix and match like our regular sized cupcakes, we will have variety 12-packs available for $5.00/dozen. Quantity and flavor variety will vary each day. Ordering in advance is highly recommended if you want to be guaranteed flavors and quantity!

Don’t forget that you can now order our regular cupcakes in minimum orders of 6! Also, Classic combos can be mixed & matched with at least 2/flavor and Signature and Inspirations flavors can be mixed & matched with at least 6/flavor!

Easter specials have been announced and can be found on our holiday specials page!

Flavor of the Day
Is there a particular flavor of ours that you’ve been especially curious about but wasn’t sure if you wanted to order a whole dozen? Well, our Flavor of the Day program is right up your alley! We started this in January and I’m so happy to see that it has really caught on…people love it! If you’re not familiar with the Flavor of the Day, let me tell you about it. Each day we feature one of our 75+ flavors and have them available for purchase in-store! A calendar of the schedule is available on our flavor of the day page and we also have printed copies available in-store.

We also have a new Flavor of the Day Pre-Order Special! If you pre-order a half or full dozen of the flavor of the day, you will be able to purchase it for the in-store price ($5.00/half-dozen & $10.00/dozen)! Depending on the flavor, this is almost a 50% discount! 2-3 days notice is requested and your order needs to be picked up the day of the flavor being featured.

In-Store News & Promotions
If you haven’t been into the store lately, we’ve been making more improvements and we now have a community bulletin board available! If you have something you’d like to hang up, bring it in and we’ll hang it up for you! Right now, we are featuring pictures of our customers’ pets dressed in cupcake gear (sweaters, collars, etc.). If you have a cute or funny picture of your pet like this, stop by and hang it up on the board!

We also have some new in-store daily promotions for the month of April:
Tuesdays – Test Kitchen Tuesday. Each Tuesday, stop in for a new, not on the menu flavor and test it out! We welcome feedback on test flavors!
Wednesday – Free Mini Day. Every Wednesday, we’ll have our mini cupcakes available for free samples!
Thursday – Madison Day. It’s our signature cupcake and it will be available every Thursday!
Friday – Cup O’Brownie Day. A chewy fudge brownie baked in cupcake form. It’s absolutely amazing!
Sunday – Spend $12.00 and get half-dozen (6) cupcakes FREE!

Sunday, April 24th – Easter Sunday. We will be CLOSED this day. Please plan accordingly for orders
Saturday, April 30th – University Place Art Festival. PJ’s will have a booth – more details will be available closer to the event!
Saturday, May 7th – First day of the Haymarket Farmer’s Market!! PJ’s will be located in the same spot we were last season (on the corner of 7th & P right in front of Lazlo’s patio!) and we’ll be there all season long!

Cupcake News!
As some of you know (and others may not), we tend to take things one step at a time here at PJ’s. Before doing anything new, we make sure everything is just right and that we get the best deal on things. While doing it this way takes time and is hard for people with no patience (like me!), it has one major benefit – it keeps our overhead costs low! And keeping our overhead costs low keeps our prices affordable for you – our customers!

With that being said, after months of planning and developing, PJ’s is extremely excited to announce that we will be carrying cupcakes in both our regular size AND mini size! Mini cupcakes will be available for purchase in store throughout the month as we continue to perfect them! Minis will also be available for advance orders beginning 22nd. Be on the lookout for pricing and ordering information!

In other cupcake news, effective Tuesday, March 8th, we are lowering our minimum order for our Signature, Creations and Inspiration cupcakes to 6 per flavor!

Valentine’s Day Specials
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! We’ll have some amazingly special flavors available the week of Valentine’s (2/8-2/13) including a new twist on everyone’s favorite, The Madison! Check out our new Holiday Specials page to see the feature flavors as well as our pre-order specials!

February Events
PJ’s will be celebrating two very special milestones next month! First of all, our business will be turning 2-years old! I can’t believe how fast time has flown! Second, we will be celebrating our 1-year anniversary in our store front! So, February has officially become Birthday Month at PJ’s! Birthday specials will be available all month and we’ll be hosting a special birthday party at the end of the month. More info on those two events to be released soon!

First Fridays
After almost a year of participating in First Fridays, we have decided to take a couple months off while we prepare for birthday celebrations! We plan on participating again once it starts warming up!

Groupons
Just another friendly reminder that Groupons will be expiring soon (43 days to be exact). To help those of you with Groupons redeem them, we are now accepting them in-store without orders on our Classic Combo and Signature flavors!

Happy New Year! Wow, I can not believe that it is already 2011! 2010 literally flew for us but it’s been an amazing year! I think, however, that 2011 is going to be even better! We’ll be entering our third year of being in business (!) and will be planning a milestone celebration for the store front! Lots of changes are on the horizon so be on the lookout for some great additions and improvements to PJ’s – both in store and on our website!

One thing we implemented last month was the new Flavor of the Day calendar! With over 65 different flavors/flavor combinations, it’s practically impossible to make all of them available every day so the Flavor of the Day calendar was born. Each day, in addition to our classic staples, we feature one of our many flavors! Each month we’ll post this calendar on our website as well as have them available in store! If there’s a particular flavor you’ve been dying to try, stop in on the day we’re featuring it!

Groupons
If you purchased a Groupon back in September, don’t forget that they expire March 1st. I know that’s two months away, but it’ll go quickly! To help you use your Groupon, we are now accepting them on in-store purchases WITHOUT an order on our Classic Combo and Signature Flavors only!

Happy Holidays, PJ’s fans! Christmas is just around the corner and I am extremely excited! Yes, this is definitely my favorite holiday – the music, the family gatherings, and, most importantly (in PJ’s land), the holiday baking! Each year, I pull out my (extremely full) box of recipes and sort through them finding the tried and true recipes we make each year as well as the ones I want to try for the first time. This year, however, I find myself looking at the recipes trying to figure out how to turn them into cupcake form. Eggnog and Cranberry Walnut are two new flavors introduced last month and they have been extremely well-received! In fact, a few customers who professed to not liking Eggnog absolutely loved the Eggnog Cupcake!  Be on the lookout for more Holiday Inspired flavors throughout the month of December!

We are proud to announce a newly updated menu page with over 65 different flavor combinations! In addition to the updates, we’ve added a new order option – mix and match dozens! That’s right, you can now mix and match our Classic flavors (10+ different combos!)!

You asked, we answered! PJ’s is excited to announce new and extended store hours – we will now be open for walk-in business 5 days a week!! Beginning November 1, 2010, our store hours will be as follows:

Monday: Closed (no pick ups)
Tuesday: By appointment only
Wednesday – Friday: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

New Flavors
While everyone is sad that Farmer’s Market season is over, it has allowed us to experiment more in the kitchen! We have two new flavors perfect for this wonderful Fall we’ve been having: Caramel Apple and Pumpkin Pie. Expect to see these in store through November. You can also special order these or any of our other flavors – check out our menu page for the full line-up of flavors. Be on the lookout for more holiday flavors in the next few weeks!

Also, a huge thank you to everyone who submitted a flavor idea! They were all wonderful and we are sorting through them and will be picking one to make in the next few weeks! And don’t worry – if yours doesn’t get picked first it doesn’t mean we won’t be making it!

Happy October! First of all, I would like to send out a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and visited us at the Farmer’s Market this season! The last market was last Saturday and it was a great season! We can’t wait to see everyone again next Spring! Also, we would be remiss if we didn’t thank everyone who helped us out this past Summer while we prepared for and worked at the market – you know who you are, so thanks a ton!

Store
Even though the Farmer’s Market is over, do not fear! You can still get your cupcakes at our store! We are currently open every Friday from 4:30 – 8:00 PM, Saturday from 2:00 – 5:00 PM and Sunday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Now that the market is over, we are starting to consider new, extended store hours! Once they are decided, we’ll post them on our website, Facebook page and as well as in our store so be on the lookout for those!

Last month, we were able to attend the International Baking Industry Exposition in Las Vegas. It was four packed days of learning about all things baking and we are now armed with an arsenal of new ideas! Be on the look out for new and exciting products and activities from PJ’s!

New Flavors and Product
We were pretty busy this past month creating all kinds of new and delectable treats for your enjoyment! Two new cupcakes: German Chocolate and Turtle (AKA “The Cole” – a customer-inspired creation!). We have also officially launched our Brownie Cups and have these available every weekend at the Farmer’s Market. Also new this month is PJ’s Rice Krispie treats and PJ’s Muddy Buddies (our version of Puppy Chow). Rice Krispies and Muddy Buddies are currently only available at the Farmer’s Market or in store but be on the lookout for more information in having these available for special order! See all of our flavors and creations on our menu page!

And, as always, we are open for new flavor suggestions so be sure to contact us with your ideas!

Can you believe that there are only 11 markets left this season?? Time has definitely flown by! If you haven’t had a chance to make it down to the market this season, we hope to see you before it’s over! PJ’s stand is located in #14 (click here to view market map).
